Joseph Teplitz is passionate about photography. His commercial photography work includes: residential and commercial buildings and interiors, photographing shows and other large artistic events, aerial photography and portraiture.
His Fine Art Photography consists of the local nature in the Appalachian Mountains, Many of the shots are from around his home in Ligonier, PA. In addition, there are selected photographs from around the world. He sells his fine art photographs on the web and through other displays and shows. He is a regular at the Ligonier Country Market in Ligonier, PA
Joe is past chairman of the board of The Mountain Institute which works with communities in the Himalayas, Andes and Appalachians to promote sustainable economic development in the mountains, conservation of mountain environments, and support for mountain cultures. A donation of 10% of the proceeds from his photos will be made to TMI. Additionally, Joe is a member of the Explorers Club and the American Alpine Club. Many of his photographs have been made on travel associated with the above endeavors.
Joe is a believer that "The best camera is the one you have WITH you". He is a member of Nikon Professional Services, and primarily uses Nikon cameras and lenses. He also has a mix of other Hasselblad and Canon film and digital equipment.
